Under the radar narratives for Super Bowl LIV

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs explosive offense going up against the San Francisco 49ers defense loaded with first rounders at the defensive line. That's the narrative surrounding the Super Bowl and we get this stuff every year, it's two weeks with no games and a lot of build up but sometimes a single battle gets a little overplayed and we lose perspective of other important factors.

If you never heard of football before in your life and by some reason you decided to listen to the Super Bowl coverage, you'd be shocked to hear that the 49ers offense actually outscored and outgained the Kansas City Chiefs this season

Offensive yards: 6097 SF     6067 KC

Points for: 479 SF     451 KC

The gap is small to the point it doesn't mean much if anything but the hype surrounding Mahomes has propelled the public perception to the point where the Chiefs seem to be in a different stratosphere. San Francisco has a top notch offense and they can score in a variety of ways, against the loaded Saints they put up 48, New Orleans has a star studded defenses, it's not like they punished the Bengals.

Seeing that interception early against the Vikings and how Kyle Shanahan managed the offense in the postseason since then it causes some skepticism regarding their ability to pass the ball effectively, but that's something they did in the regular season. Shanahan wasn't going to pass the ball against the Packers just to prove he can do it.

Having won against the Texans being down by 24 it makes you think the Chiefs are never out of a game but the Texans blew that one as much as anything else, they shortened the game, the fake punt allowed Kansas City to score quickly, but the point is that if happens again, if they get down by 14, they can still come back, but it's a complete different story.

Nick Bosa is amongst the best rookies in NFL history but he struggled against mobile Quarterbacks, he overcommitted often and allowed the QB to step up and get away from him. Against Lamar Jackson, Russel Wilson and Kyler Murray the latter two twice he had no sacks and in all five of those games were close, San Francisco won 3 of them.

Neither team has a great offensive line but Jimmy G gets rid of the ball quickly within the 49ers' scheme and the ability to extend plays by Pat Mahomes helps mascarate some of the holes in the OL. Kansas City is significantly better in passing protection, Mitchell Schwartz is exceptional in pass blocking and I am very much looking forward to seeing that battle, Chiefs' tackles against the 49ers' edge rushers.

Truth be told this game could go either way it feels as though San Francisco has the better overall roster but with Mahomes and those weapons the Chiefs can beat anybody, not like in a sense where they have merely a shot, they are stacked as well, the edge for San Francisco isn't that big. I am just excited and looking forward to a great game Sunday in Miami.

Picks 21-30 Mock Draft 1.0

Picks 21-30 Mock Draft 1.0 #21 Pick Philadelphia Eagles: WR Justin Jefferson School: LSU.   Year: Junior Carson Wentz broke records in 2019 with the amount of yards he got with minimum contribution at the WR spot. Based on his performance at the Combine, Jefferson jumps a few spots and gets himself into the first round. #22 Pick Buffalo Bills: WR Tee Higgins School: Clemson.  Year: Junior This is the Draft if you are looking for receivers and that's the case for the Bills who'll look to surround Allen with as many tools as possible. #23 Pick New England Patriots: QB Jordan Love School: Utah State.   Year: (RS) Junior I believe Eason could go here and I understand that Love isn't the type of QB prospect Belichick usually goes for but baed off what I am hearing in terms of rumors and the lack of weapons Jordan had in his final year. I could see this happening. #24 Pick New Orleans Saints: CB Kristian Fulton School: LSU.   Year: Senior With f

Watford took down Liverpool and it wasn't even close

Liverpool finally lost a match in the Premier League, how did it happen? As I listened to Klopp's interview after the match there was something very interesting that he touched on. When asked how would the team react after losing, he mentioned that the Reds lost matches this year in the Champins League and that the feeling of defeat while rare isn't something that they haven't experienced this season. He isn't really worried about that. To be honest with you there are a lot of teams in this battle against relegation that play an interesting brand of football, clubs like Brighton and Southampton with an interesting philosophy as a whole. Watford's management is the most impatient in the Premier League with little to no believe in continuity, but as much as that can disappoint me as an analyst, the fans of the club aren't really responsible for it and ultimately they are the ones that suffer the most when the club underachieves. While Pearson has done a

Mock Draft 1.0 Part 2

Picks 11-20 #11 Pick New York Jets: WR Jerry Jeudy School: Alabama.  Year: Junior Robby Anderson is a Free Agent and there have been a few rumors linking the Jets to Jack Conklin. A signing that would help address the hole in the o-line. If that happens getting Jeudy here really bolsters their offensive firepower. #12 Pick Las Vegas Raiders: WR Henry Ruggs School: Alabama   Year: Junior Back to back Alabama receivers off the board. The Raiders need a lot of help on defense and a guy like Javon Kinlaw would be a great pick here, but I just don't think Gruden will resist the tentation of taking the speedster from Alabama. #13 Pick Indianapolis Colts: DT Javon Kinlaw School: South Carolina.   Year: Senior Chris Ballard gets a big powerful force to plug in as an interior defensive lineman filling a need with one of the best available players. #14 Tampa Bay Buccaneers: OT Tristan Wirfs School: Iowa.   Year: Junior The Bucs need
